With the increase of students at INED on Rua Marechal Saldanha, the school’s management team decided to build a new pavilion with 9 classrooms and 2 laboratories.
Given the type of users, the building was designed in contemporary lines, with resistant and perennial materials, and easy maintenance. In contrast to the renovations carried out by the state in the intervention “parque escolar”, it was chosen a building less dependent on mechanical solutions, with good thermal insulation, natural ventilation on opposite facades, control of solar rays with U.V. double glazing, and interposed blinds, … which results in energy efficiency and economical saving.
