Morro hillside housing

Year: 2011 - 2013

Intervention: rua do Pilar, Vila Nova de Gaia

The land presents itself as a flat platform with a generous front. The proposed volumetry seeks to give continuity to the surrounding urban fabric, and to blur the potential rupture of a new and extensive intervention, in the most visible front that frames the area of Port Wine and Historic Porto Warehouse, classified as World Heritage.
The projected building is thus formed by a set of volumes that follow the natural slope of Rua do Pilar, similar to the other existing buildings on the slope of the Morro garden, in the City of Gaia.
Throughout the building there are eleven single-family houses, in band, with typologies T2, T3 and T4, which can be accessed from the independent doors open to Rua do Pilar or through the garage.
